Liza Hirst is a British/German painter living and working in London UK. She studied graphik design and painting at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin (HDKB) and looks back on more than 40 years of working as an artist and several years as art teacher. Her paintings are in collections in Europe, America and many other countries.
After working mainly representational for most of her career, she felt her interest shifting a few years ago and since then has been focussing on abstract work. She enjoys searching for colour combinations and compositions that „feel right“ to her. Many layers of paint produce surprise after surprise which she loves discovering and balancing in geometric, linear or more expressive compositions.
